The Package is the fourteenth main chapter of Serious Sam 4, where Sam must fight through enemy-infested areas to deliver an important package and continue the resistance’s mission.
Throughout the chapter, players can discover hidden secrets containing useful supplies and collectibles while battling increasingly difficult enemy encounters. Completing the chapter advances the story toward the final stages of Sam’s fight against Mental.
The Package is the fourteenth chapter of Serious Sam 4 and takes Sam all the way to a Russian oil rig called Thunderbird, somewhere in Siberia.
After everything that happened with General Brand, Sam finds himself alone and stranded on the rig. Luckily, there’s a boat nearby. The only problem is getting to it.
This is one of the shorter chapters in the game, but there are still 5 secrets, 1 S.A.M. egg, and one optional side mission called “Twisted Little Passages.” The side mission is a little different from the others because it involves playing a text-adventure game on a computer.

Find a Way Onto the Oil Rig
After landing on the oil rig, start moving forward and look for a way inside.
You’ll have to make your way across the exterior platforms, climbing ladders and crossing the narrow walkways between the large oil-rig structures.
There are a few enemies around, but this opening section is fairly quiet compared with some of the earlier chapters.
Before going too far, make sure you grab the first secret.
Secret #1 – L.I.F.E. Gadget
Once you’ve entered the oil platform, go down the first set of stairs.
At the bottom, look behind the large engine/machinery.
You’ll find a L.I.F.E. gadget hidden behind it.

Pick it up to trigger Secret #1.
This one is very easy to walk past if you simply follow the objective marker.
Secret #2 – C-4 Demolition Charges
From the first secret, head back upstairs and continue toward the outside of the rig.
Follow the walkways until you reach the ladder leading back inside.
Continue through the interior until you reach the area where the optional objective begins.
Instead of immediately following the objective, look to the right.
Climb the stairs and look behind the large tank.

You’ll find a box of C-4 Demolition Charges.
Pick them up to trigger Secret #2.
Secret #3 – Hacked Drone
Head back outside and continue across the rig.
Look for a large pipe running along the outside of the structure.
Carefully jump onto the pipe and follow it around.

At the end you’ll find a Hacked Drone gadget.
This jump can be surprisingly awkward, so I’d recommend making a quick save before attempting it.
Pick up the gadget to complete Secret #3.
Reach the Boat
Once you’ve explored the first section, continue following the main objective.
You’ll eventually make your way across more exterior platforms before returning inside the oil rig.
The interior sections are filled with Processed enemies, so be ready for some close-range fights.

Keep pushing forward until you eventually reach the lower levels of the rig.
Find the Double Barrel Coach Gun
As you progress through the interior, you’ll eventually obtain the Double Barrel Coach Gun.
This is a particularly useful weapon when enemies start getting close, so keep it ready for the tighter sections of the oil rig.
After picking it up, continue toward the lower deck.
You’ll soon encounter several Processed Anthropolyps.
S.A.M. Egg – 1 Skill Point
In the lower deck area, look for the room containing several Processed Anthropolyps and a radio.
Inside this room is a S.A.M. egg.

Pick it up to receive 1 skill point.
This is the last S.A.M. egg to appear in the main campaign of Serious Sam 4, so don’t leave the area without collecting it.
You can now spend the skill point in the S.A.M. skill tree.
“Twisted Little Passages” Side Mission
Continue through the interior of the oil rig.
Eventually, you’ll come across a locked storage room with a computer terminal next to the door.
This starts the optional side mission “Twisted Little Passages.”

The objective is a little unusual: instead of fighting your way through another arena, you have to play a small text-adventure game called “Sorcerous Samuel.”
There’s also a note called “So You Ought To Be A Hero” attached to the terminal. This is the chapter’s registered document collectible.
Playing Sorcerous Samuel
Interact with the computer to start the game.
You’ll be presented with text descriptions and several choices.
The game is basically a parody of an old-school text adventure, with characters and situations based on Serious Sam 4.
Take your time reading the descriptions and choose the options that progress the story.

If you make a wrong choice, don’t worry too much. The game is designed as a small joke rather than a serious puzzle.
Once you’ve successfully completed Sorcerous Samuel, the storage room door opens.
Side Mission Reward
Enter the storage room after completing the game.
Inside you’ll find armor, ammunition and a H.E.A.R.T. gadget.

Collect everything to complete “Twisted Little Passages.”
The H.E.A.R.T. gadget is particularly useful because it provides additional survivability during the fights ahead.
Continue Through the Oil Rig
After completing the side mission, return to the main route.
You’ll eventually make your way outside again.
The rig becomes much more open here, with several large cranes and containers surrounding the main deck.
There are also more enemies to deal with, so be ready for a larger fight.

Once you reach the main deck, don’t immediately follow the objective.
There are two more secrets nearby.
Secret #4 – L.I.F.E. Gadget
When you reach the large main deck with the cranes, head toward the left side.
Climb onto the railing and use it to jump onto the nearby shipping container.

There’s a L.I.F.E. gadget sitting on top.
Pick it up to complete Secret #4.
This jump can be a little awkward, so save before attempting it if you’re having trouble.
Secret #5 – L.I.F.E. Gadget
Stay around the same area.
Look toward the left crane and climb onto its footbridge.
From there, jump onto the nearby tanks.
Use the tanks to reach the shipping containers.

Make your way across the containers and you’ll find another L.I.F.E. gadget.
Pick it up to complete Secret #5, the final secret in The Package.
The Final Battle
Once you’ve collected the final secret, return to the main route.
You’ll eventually reach the large open section of the oil rig where the final battle takes place.
This is the biggest fight of the chapter, so use the open space to keep your distance from the enemies.

Take out the enemy waves and continue toward the crane that provides access to the boat.
The goal is finally within reach.
Reach the Boat
After clearing the final area, make your way toward the crane.
Climb inside and operate it to reach the boat.

Once you’ve made it onto the boat, Sam finally has a way off the oil rig.
The chapter ends as he heads toward the mainland and his next destination: Tunguska.
Dossier Collectibles
There is 1 registered document in The Package:
- “So You Ought To Be A Hero” – found beside the computer terminal where you start Twisted Little Passages.
The chapter also contains 5 unregistered audio logs scattered around the level. These don’t get added to Netricsa like normal audio logs; instead, they play directly when you approach them. Most are found along the interior route, with one located in the cockpit of the crane opposite the one needed to finish the level.
If you’re aiming for a complete dossier collection, it’s worth exploring the interior areas instead of rushing straight to the boat.
